Cafe Crave.

Rating: 9.9 outta 10.
Where: Cafe Crave. 25 McDonald Street, Kingsland. Auckland.
Ordered: Cheese scones, long black, flat white. $13.50.

Matt and I popped in here this morning for a quick bite and a coffee. All the tables were taken inside (a good sign), so we braved the elements and opted for a table just outside the front door.

Braving the elements was worth it, the food and coffee arrived in short order ... and what a treat! The scones were light, cheesy perfection, baked fresh just this morning, served warm with the mandatory butter on the side.
Coffee was smooth and hit the spot!

As we were leaving other patrons were commenting also on the quality of the food and coffee, and making note that it was their new favourite place to be. I couldn't agree more.

To look in the door, the decor is in line with all that is Kingslandl, but perhaps not quite as edgy as other places... but this is more than compensated for by the warm cheery staff, quick service and delicious offerings.

This place is my new fave rave.

Columbus Coffee: Fancy some brekky?

Where: Columbus Coffee, Dominion Road, Auckland Central. NZ.
Rated: O for Awesome
How Much: $40 ($20 per person ish)
Meal: Brunch

Off we went, Matt and I to brunch at Columbus on Dominion Road. Columbus Coffee to be exact. A chain of cafes about the place, with their own brew and a delish selection of goodies to go with.

I had the buttermilk hotcakes. Matt the French Toast with Bacon. A flat white and a Long Black.
It was good. SO GOOD.

The hotcakes were served with a simply divine apple preserve, my mouth is watering at the memory of it. Matts' French Toast was equally well received.

Service is with a smile, quietly efficient. The food is always great, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is that of a busy and bustling cafe, a little noisy, but equally somewhere to sit and watch the world go by.

Love it.
